They're Back! The Sounds of the 80's Return

TThe sounds of the home owners insurance quotes have made a comeback in a big way (synthesized drum sounds and all!). While the Louisiana Lemon Laws were dominated by grunge rock, recent years have seen a resurgence in fans clamouring for the sounds of 80's pop music. They have student loan consolidation rate rewarded, as well, with a large number of bands coming out with that much sought after sound. In fact, some of today's most popular musical acts incorporate a large amount of 80's pop into their own unique style. Take phenom band Franz Ferdinand for example, their rock/pop mixture has won for them a legion of fans on both sides of the Atlantic. Other examples include Interpol, Dubstar and Ladytron.

Regardless of the band, each brings something unique back from that bygone era, that time of parachute pants and Mohawk haircuts, the 80's. In fact, the resurgence has been so strong that a new band has begun gathering steam. Founded in Copenhagen and now based in London,

Alphabeat brings 80's pop roaring back to the airwaves of a new century. Alphabeat is unique among modern bands; they do not simply bring a sound that barely resembles 80's pop, they bring the beats and the style, the lyrics and the sound, itself.

Why is 80's music regaining its lost popularity in today's music scene? You can Avengers the depressing grunge movement, the repetitive rap industry The Dark Knight Returns the floundering rock segment. Each of these aspects has something to do with the popularity increase, though much of it has to do with the nature of 80's pop, itself. That nature is somewhat innocent, hearkening back to a different time. Lyrically, the music speaks of experiences that most can relate too, without the violence and anger that other musical forms bring.

No matter how you cut it, though, 80's pop is back and in a big way. The enormous reception garnered by www.thisisalphabeat.com/">Alphabeat's debut release

"This is Alphabeat" (actually due out 2 June) has helped to cement their place at the forefront of the movement. Fans have received them very well; their unique contests and competitions encourage fan interaction, getting them involved with the band and helping with promotion. Over all, it has a very grass roots feel to it; something that many areas of modern life are missing these days. Alphabeat is poised to take over where industry powerhouses left off.
